If you have the room for it and the money I have used a John Deer in the past. I think it was 12 HP or something. It threw snow harder than anything I have ever used. I have a small Ariens. It is okay. Only problem I have had with it is leaked oil at one point. Gasket or something was ****.
Up here we just don't trade in the old truck when we buy a new one. Instead it becomes the "plow truck" and we use it all year long for a variety of chores/spare vehicle/etc and in the winter we hook up the blade and actually plow with it. If one has the time and inclination they can make some spare cash plowing other folks' drives and parking lots and such.
For the townspeople a snow blower is fine for clearing walks, a short driveway, and the parking pad in front of the garage. When I did that I had an old Troy-Bilt badged version of the ubiquitous MTD 22-incher. As long as I tuned it up and replaced the auger belt as needed it it never let me down.
I turned my dishwasher into a snow thrower by giving her a shovel last Christmas.
But seriously I have one packed in my shed I didn't even use last year, but I also have a plow truck. Think it's a single stage toro with electric start. Just plug it in to a wall outlet and hit it. I've used it maybe 5 times in as many years. A shovel is just as easy as shoving a heavy machine around and does a better job.
got that plus a craftsmen and a john deere when my pops died he bought machines and used them till they died with little maintence cause he was dumb like that
he had the husq when i was in high school so not sure why he got the other two but that ***** runs good while the other two dont so if u looking to buy the husq appears to be the ak47 of snowblowers
Years ago, back when warning labels on products were becoming increasingly retarded, I remember seeing one for a snow blower/removal piece of equipment that had a 'crossed out' drawing of a stick man using this device on the roof.
