I don't think he's going to be FDR, but certainly he cares more than Trump and will implement policies that benefit a wider range of people.
Trump is also a climate change denier, which is not a viable ideology moving forward. Even if his social positions weren't idiotic, it's hard to justify supporting a candidate who denies basic science.
