Hellgate London Influenced by Tribes

I was checking this new PC game coming out (which looks pretty awesome), but what really cuaght my attention was the look of the in game models and even the imagery for the game. This stuff makes me think of what a Tribes 1 sequel done with souped up graphics might look likeif it was ever done without the cartoony look. The trailers pretty cool to and this is a PC first person shooter. No console.

This game totally caught me by suprise. It looks friggin awesome. Its not quite a full core FPS (its like Diablo first person) but sound damn good.

Most impressive of all, the maps are completely random. Players will venture from one hub to another, and while these "safe zones" are static, the journey between each one will be different for everyone. Games like Diablo have created random 2D dungeons, but to do it in a 3D first-person environment is impressive: Flagship had to design a game engine from scratch (See this feature on the technology for a lowdown).

best of all VU has nothing to do with it.

That is lookin very cool. Sounds like Multiplayer will be somewhat like GW. Which is fine. Add in Random Areas with freinds , could be very cool.
 
I wonder if you'll actually be able to move like the female character is moving.

I also think it's very interesting seeing the inclusion of melee weapons in an FPS. First UnrealTournament 2 for the XBox and now this game.

This is one to keep your eye on for sure!

Actually from what I read the shooting wont quite be like a real FPS. Sort of a combo FPS and RPG game. Its being made by a couple folks from Blizzard (the ones that made Diablo).
 
lately i've started seeing more and more of tribes in concept art from high-end games

like Unreal Championship 2 for xbox, now this

cant remember them all off-hand but there were a few more
 
This game isnt being made by Blizzard, but a dev company formed by former folks from Blizzard. The publisher is Namco.

i'm pretty sure this game is more like diablo than tribes. i've read that is has levels that are randomly generated, which is pretty much a first for a 3d shooter type game
