the current price already reflect what the mainstream think AMD is worth after Ryzen comes out, if it does increase to 20 this year that's certainly from something else that's not revealed.

And Intel is down, no independent performance reviews on AMD chips till after release.

That Blender benchmark they showed off was tainted by a bug in Blender that just got fixed, render performance was gimped on both AMD and Intel but supposedly affected Intel more.

good to see competition again against Intel, they were getting a little big for their britches with the high end CPU pricing.
 
the 1800x can't be worse than the intel counter part at the same price range. it's unpossible!

amd is the last pick of the group tho imo

the great hope will come when software starts being "tuned" for more than 4 core cpu's.

none of these new AMD cpu's have an APU even though all the motherboards have graphics ports, supposedly later this year they'll release versions with an APU. Obviously enthusiasts don't give a shit but if you want to build an inexpensive HTPC then it'll require a GPU purchase.

new cpu cooler design, will it sound like a jet engine?
 
this is AMD we're talking about.



at least they offer some of the cpu's with the wraith as an option.

Is it normal for CPU releases to not have advance independent review products sent out?

Also when is the general expected release date for the next set of intel's stuff
 
There were engineering samples sent out. All the reviewers are probably under NDA until March 3rd.
