I have some PDF and Word file (images) that i need to pull text from, but OCRs on the market suck. The text output is all garbled, its in wierd ASCII characters, and worst of all, takes more time to edit then me just typing it myself.

what optical character recognition do you people use?

Even the best OCR will struggle with handwriting, but this product is pretty good.

Have fun buying it though. I think a single scan station license is 10 grand.

If you have Microsoft Office, OneNote has built-in OCR. Worth a try if you have it installed.
