Gary Harris has reached an agreement on a four-year, $84 million contract extension with the Nuggets.

He turned into a two-way player last year as one of the most efficient guards in the 2016-17 season. Only six NBA guards last year had a usage rate of at least 18, play at least 15 minutes per night and post over a 61 true shooting percentage, and Harris is the only one to not make an All-Star team (Thomas, Curry, Lowry, Paul, and Harden). He's been handling ball more in the preseason and he could make another big leap this year. He's an outstanding target in the middle rounds of standard drafts.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, LaMarcus Aldridge and the Spurs are engaged in talks on a contract extension.

Aldridge always seemed like a weird fit in San Antonio and he was heavily criticized for his play down the stretch last season, so this is pretty surprising. There was also several reports about LMA being unhappy about his role early in the offseason, but he patched things up with coach Gregg Popovich and the front office before training camp. Coming off a strong preseason, Aldridge may have to carry the Spurs early on with Kawhi Leonard (quad) still without a timetable.

According to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune, Bobby Portis is "on track" to be suspended following his altercation with Nikola Mirotic.

Portis punched Mirotic in practice on Tuesday, reportedly fracturing multiple bones in Mirotic's face. It was assumed that Portis would be suspended once the incident was reported, and this is further confirmation. We are still waiting for word on how long the suspension might last. Lauri Markkanen will likely see a major spike in minutes while both Mirotic and Portis are out. Cristiano Felicio may also log some minutes at PF as well.
