i do tech support for a computer company in Sydney. I am on 24/7 call for server support at the moment and i just got of the phone with Irrational Games. I was helping the guy building a RAID array after we had finished i asked him if he worked in Canberra, which he did.

So i asked him the question, "you might not be able to answer this but i have heard a rumor that you guys are making the next tribes game. I am a triber"

There was a ummm a little chuckle then a "no comment"

hope his server breaks again so i can hit him up for more info.
 
Preferacing your question with, "You May Not Be Able To Answer This..." is just another way of saying, "Don't answer my question."

Next time, catch him off guard and say, "So, how's the new Tribes game coming along?"

He might slip and say, "Fine." and then you've got him. Then you come back and say, "So, is this the development box for the game?"
 
some more info that I uncovered is...on the irrational games forums, a couple months ago they annouced that they were making a new FPS game, but could not annouce what it was.

This is excellent news....even though I think their australia studio is untested...(correct me if i'm wrong, but i think it was the boston studio that did system shock 2 and freedom force)
 
great irrational is going to take over a game made by dynamix that was insipred by the guys that made TERRA NOVa strike force centauri and that would be DEVELOPER/3D Realms and Terminal Realitypics
Looking Glass was the "PUBLISHER"
Fuck Tribes 3 sure systemshock2 was a good RPG/fps blend but these guys are gonna make it worse than Tribes2.
Great way to get rid of dynamix you vivendi>sierra french nazi's, i sure as hell ain't buying Tribes 3 now.

Why is it that everyone must nock the next versions of tribes everytime one is announced? Atleast wait till we have enough information to know what it will be like before deciding to talk smack about it.

While I have no love for how T2 was handled I still would hope that the experience that they gained on how not to handle a game would make them better able to steer this new version down a better path.

Or we could just ignore his stupid Hercy butt and go on discussing how cool it is that Irrational might be making this game :D
