Sorry about that, but at least blame the right person, this is all about the posting of child sex fantasies authored by Mason Hunter.

I bought a Milwaukee 18V cordless drill/driver for general work around the house. It's been fantastic so far. I think they make pretty good corded stuff as well.

I had no use for impact or hammer so I did not get a tool with those features, but Milwaukee makes a million different models.

I need to do some fine shaving of an outdoor door latch. Should I actually buy a Dremel (or Makita comparative) or just buy the bits and stick them in my drill?

Cordless impact. You haven't driven a screw until you've used an impact driver.

I use Makita stuff professionally. Still have 2 Milwaukee sets but their chargers and batteries have randomly been dying, so I've sworn off their tools. Makita strong as fuck.

I have a DeWalt set for around-home use though and its been good too, but I haven't really put it thru its paces.

Hacksaw for the cutting ;)

Dremel is handy tho. I have one and use it randomly a few times a year for different shit. Attachments are pricey and the cutoff wheels are weak just FYI.

I find my cordless drills amazing. I always go for cordless on screwing, sits nice in tool belt as well. I save the corded for pre-drilling lead holes for tidy stuff light stuff. They sit in the charger and it holds for weeks. They quick charge if flat, and generally last 3+ years. It's the bit holders I get fussier about. I like magnetic and can't stand the clip type. Those linked Makitas would be a dream to use. Smallest and lightest for the job best bet. Probably have nice clutch/torque settings, good modulation for speed on the trigger. My cordless pretty much lives with a phillips head in it. Opening PC's, building light timber stuff, screws into walls, working on the car, kids battery fucking compartments in toys. Putting hex4 (ikea) furniture together. It's rare I'd ever hold a screwdriver in my hand anymore. Just so handy cordless. For heavier stuff like tech screws into roof/metal sheeting, or drilling mostly, I'll run out a cord.

And with cordless, you kind of feel like it's a laser gun and it's more fun to mock-shoot at things.

I have a project I need to do around the house that requires a handheld jigsaw, but I have no other need for a jigsaw so it makes no sense to buy one. Home Depot does not rent them. Fuckin a...
