there are a lot of nice places to bike around this planet. there are "nice" and "generous" people to interact with everywhere.
these two young ppl were enjoying themselves and had fun seeing the world. it's a shame that they got killed i think. but they had a social agenda (albeit mostly only shared w/ friends/family) with their traveling and they got killed in an area known for not nice people. i wonder if they ever really considered the risks of traveling there, or if they are so privileged with their lives that they didn't think anything bad could happen. gg.
or at least not plan a trip on bicycles through ISIS held territory.. that has no common sense attached to that decision, no matter what the motive was

better 4 the weak of heart like u 2 retreat like cowards than to see the world
does ur doctor even let u use a bicycle on US territory?
uh have people calling them idiots for traveling through "isis territory" ever seen where tajikstan is on a map? it wasn't even rated a 2 by the department of state travel advisory (it is now)
this was a freak occurrence, muslims suck dick all over the world, get out of mom basement etc
"They sped towards the group of tourists, rammed them, jumped out and attacked the cyclists with knives. The horrendous slaying was captured on grainy footage from the attackers — who also took the lives of one Dutch and one Swiss national."
*/me reaches out and puts hand in blender.*
*/me presses the max speed button.*
*/me realizes that my hand is a mangled and bloody mess*
These kinds of people are moronic. I don't doubt that even someone as white as myself could probably travel through the middle-east unharmed if i wanted to. The 'secret' is to not look like a friggen tourist. If you're in a country where the average person is eating rock soup and ****ting in a hole in the ground, and you and your 'partner' come rolling through geared up in equipment that is worth more than what they will make in lifetime, on a bike that will feed their kids for a year, plus being a 'we're all brothers' kind of leftist douchebag, and on top of it all to them being the exact same motherf*ckers that have been bombing their country flat for a couple decades, how would anyone expect a different result.
I mean if during the u.s. civil war if someone from PA decided to hike through Alabama to show we're all brothers, or a CA native backpacked through Berlin in 1943 to show humanity's loving side, the result would likely be the same
