Time to start looking at is as Book vs Show. They're not going to introduce yet another new character and have to explain that person's background if it can be taken over by an existing character. It's not so much that it invalidates the book, as much as it's just unnecessary for the show.

I don't know if Martin has given them access to what exists in Book 6 or just told them some rough plot points, but they must be in preproduction for next year already and there's no published material to work from. I saw an article that they weren't going to do Oldtown and the Citadel at all, but then they made it a point to mention both in this episode. There's only 5 episodes left and the movement of the series has slowed down quite a bit.

yep, thats exactly how im looking at it. Jamie goes to dorne, barristan dies, sansa marries ramsay. Wouldnt surprise me if we get a book ending and a show ending. Think GRRM or D&D brought this up

you have to admit that the start of this season has been very slow. I get they're building up multiple story lines, but the Bolton story line is being dragged on and on and the most interesting plots at the moment, Jaime and Arya, didn't even make an appearance in this episode.

Also yes, the last 5-10 minutes with Tyrion and the stone dudes was the best part of the episode by 100x. Someone should tell Ramsey to find a girl with a little meat on her.
