OCZ Technology Revo Drive 3 Series 240GB PCI Express 8 GB-s Slim - RVD3-FHPX4-240G: Computers

If you have a spare PCI-E 4x slot this drive supposedly can get 900 mb/s to 1000 mb/s write speeds. Christ this seriously makes me considering getting one of these and installing current games to it, or using that trick to move my steam folder to it.

Speaking of supporting it, I don't even have a PCI-E 4x slot. I do have an available 16x, I think that would down ramp to the speed of the device installed in the slot though.

There are plenty of 128GB SSDs for ~50 bucks now. I may need to pick one up as my main drive.

I've never used an SSD. How do you mount them? Do they fit in a regular hard drive bay?

You will need a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter plate

With a drive adapter. 2.5" drive

My new case came with a 2.5" drive slot built into the bottom of the case.

I just mounted mine to the top side of my 3.5" bay with two screws and let it hang there (my drives sit vertically). It's not like they weigh much, and as long as you're not moving the tower around frequently, it's perfectly secure.

Then again, I'm lazy.

I've had 2 crucial SSDs flake out on me already, so I hope this one is more reliable.
