NPR

Default FM channel in my car.

Some good/bad tunes.
Some good/bad shows.
Some good/bad news stories.
Some great locally produced history.

Way too much racism stuff. For a while every story was tied to racism. It has calmed down but still is strong.

Almost all of the big show female speakers have horrible vocal fry. I guess to sound more gender ...neutral? I dunno. It seems that bad women writers and story tellers hide behind vocal fry.

Recent abortion issues have brought them up front again.

Will listen to again.
 
I used to listen to NPR all the time and especially some of the music stuff. I tuned in not to long ago and just turned it off... Completely taken over by brainwashed far left. They had a story being told about how a young black man didn't feel black enough and too white because he had never been called the the "N Word" and people didn't feel threatened by him...

WTF?
 
You have to make a distinction between the national and local stuff.

I dearly miss one of the best music shows I've ever had access too. The Kitchen Sink was a never miss show. Rates up there with Jools Holland's shows for breadth of genre and history.

y did everyone all of a sudden start saying this word vocal fry six months ago

i never would have noticed this was a thing if people didn't point it out constantly like it somehow is an awesome observation of great insight and worthy of universal censure
 
used to be good, had some cool music and a show about the galaxy with some chick with a slight lisp.

now it's all about why immigrants are good and interviewing migrants and shit. definitely politcally slanted to fuck
 
Meh, I'll listen to it if I'm on the road for a long time and away from local talk radio. Trafic isn't so bad around here that I'm in the car longer than the local weather and news they play on the half hours.

I was brainwashed by these people for most my life but now it's ridiculous if you don't see the bent that they're showing. It's like they tell us what they're doing and laugh about it in our faces.
 
All NPR 'news' seems to be either
a feelz it refugee immigrant story,
identity politics story,
or Trump/national capitalist bashing

I try to come back and listen to NPR for balance... but it's gotten ridiculous. I think they're only hiring woman & gays now. So sad

The more Trump gets on board with Israel and bombing syria/iran the happier npr seems to be
