I wasn't. This was done through the coop office at my university.
I got their offer by email meaning they sent me a job offer wikth the terms and conditions, by email, after an interview. This was 100% legit.
Well then, yes, thats a pretty shitty offer I think.
I dont know what you should expect to get paid, but thats fucking LOW for the oil field.

It wasn't an engineering job, it was technician job, but yeah. That's why I'm declining. If I was only making that much, I'd expect full paid accommodations and trip, etc.

The job is in a location up north, 6 hours from the nearest city. Rent costs 1500 dollars, no utilities or anything included, for a one bedroom apartment.
21 dollars an hour for 40 hours would mean I'd be taking home 1860 dollars, excluding all other costs.
Food being 400 a month, plus utilities, etc...I'd be pocketing dust.
Def. not entitled.
yeah most of my male relatives who moved out west worked in the oil patch. that's why I work in the office
can't beat 35-40 bucks an hour for 8 hours a day, 4 hours of time and a half, and then making time and a half for 4.5 of the remaining days of the week. oh yeah and living allowance and etc
sucks you can only work for like 6 months out of a year but whatever. that shit ain't for me
