The "B" level acts play at the local casinos, smaller amphitheaters, and festivals. What basically happens is the members of the group die off, but one or two remaining members will continue the group using the name. For example, the members of Three Dog Night have died, except one singer. He's still out there on the "B" circuit.
I'm pretty sure Valerie is originally by The Zutons and Winehouse just covered it

anyway carry on

The amount of sound that Rush put out for 3 dudes is amazing. ZZ-Top also put out some seriously good music (prior to the 80s pop-rock) but there is something about Rush that puts them over ZZ-Top, at least for me. And, I am... was a huge blues fan.

I have seen both bands in my lifetime and both shows were really good.

He was a modern day warrior man. He had his mean mean stride with mean mean pride swagger.

The actual song doesn't start until about 4:30

Tbh I always thought of rush as a gimmick band, like ZZ Top, Peter frampton, kiss etc. nothing special and pretty ****ing boring. I***8217;m not even sure if any of them have done any actual drugs.

They are from Canada, eh? Baby shower gifts are typically either a pink or blue bong and zig zag rolling papers.

The only criticism I would make of rush is their constantly changing styles to reflect pop culture. I mean holy ****, they went reggae for a while. Their best work is on their two first live albums, tbh.

rush didn't go reggae what the **** are you talking about? the 30 second break in spirit of radio?

hard rock then some prog then more cars-y synth rock in the 80s (imo their best phase, moving pictures through hold your fire) then the early 90s was probably the most embarrassing with roll the bones and presto, then it's all their own brand of hard rock again after that. clockwork angels was one of their best albums.

I saw Rush around 2 years ago, I was hoping they would play the 2112: Overture/temple, unfortunately they didn't. Tom Sawyer was outstanding, with musical textures that nailed you right in the chest, thick and tight. I went mainly to see Neil Peart, who is one of the best drummers ever. His only rival IMO would be Carl Palmer from ELP. Good stuff.

Spirit of Radio, Vital Signs, Digital Man, Distant Early Warning, and New World Man are the first ones that come to mind. They admit in interviews that they were heavily influenced by popular music at different periods of their career, most notably the new wave groups like the police, talking heads, etc.

I kind of stopped listening to rush after signals. I prefer their early hard rock stuff as that's the style of musical I mostly identify with.

okay i can see the influence you're pointing to on those particular tracks (bass lead, back beat, whatever you call that wash effect on the guitar) but goddamn calling that "going reggae" is quite the stretch, especially because you picked out a handful of tracks over a four album span

no argument about the new wave part like i said they obviously liked the cars, but going reggae man rush never "went reggae" lol, they just had a more diversified sound than ac/play the same song for 30 years/dc
