Didn't Google rip on Apple at the pixel event last year for dropping the headphone jack. What a joke. Note 8 here I come, need to switch off Fi to tmobile

i only charge wirelessly about 1/3 of the time
usually cuz wired is faster and seems to heat up the battery less
but just putting it onto its charging stand is a lot easier than fiddling with cables
and my last 2 phones have had noticeable wear and tear on the USB port and cable over time - which hasn't been a problem with my most recent

well the headphone jack is pointless unless you want to charge and listen to headphones at the same time...the douchey thing to me is not including headphones

Get the first gen XL
It's a great phone aside from the physical size but the 6p is no better so yeah.
Or get a $4 dongle. Or usb-c headphones. It's the future anyway.

How do they **** that up?
Are there a lot research group responses asking for more bezel?
Every other top the line phone is eliminating bezels

I'll never understand how anybody buys anything other than android. Apple is a dumbed down pile of **** version of a phone that only 12 year old girls should own that make you spend half the phones price on charging utilities and extras much like their piece of **** computer counterparts. Samsung, while pissing me off for a while removing the micro sd slot woke the **** up for that and fixed it, but still not replaceable battery is not up my alley.
How you can be tethered to a piece of **** apple product who doesn't allow you any more space than what's in the phone is beyond me.
Sheep. That's the only way I can explain it.

A lot of iOS apps run better then their Android equivalent. Although a lot of that is on the app devs not google

google cloud messaging on android is flawed by design for android > 5.1.1
devices go into 'doze' mode, stopping all services to save battery. it will only wake if you receive a notification that's marked as 'high priority' by GCM
Gmail and Hangouts messages are sent with 'normal' priority, which doesn't wake the phone or give a notification until the handset is woken by other means
the overall effect is that email is no longer instant push on android - it's 'get notification when you check your phone', not 'check your phone when you get a notification'
lots of other things can wake the phone, including motion sensor triggers, so a lot of people don't notice or complain
its not rom or device specific - its the way android and GCM are designed. i can reproduce the issue easily - i have 2 identical phones, and if i put 5.1.1 on one - and anything above that on the other - leave the phones on a table for over half hour and send an email. the 5.1.1 device gets the email notification instantly - later versions dont.
IOS successfully wakes the device and shows notifications instantly though

I feel like I've been noticing this lately, ****.. not sure why it didn't bother me before. How long before the device goes to 'sleep'?

Just switched the Gmail app to 'not optimize' battery. That might be the solution
