so if sat launches r so expensive

y dont they just launch em dis way lol

and if u wanna get higher after reaching a limit, then fire boosters at that point.

i mean itd need larger balloons but still cheaper

because satellites are 5+ tons and the rocket would be even more and the balloon would be so huge the rocket would have to fly around it. u also don't get much because you still have to accelerate to orbital speeds anyway.

Near space balloons reach 28km. Space begins at 100km. Low Earth orbit satellites go between 300 and 600km.

I suppose it would require a smaller rocket to start from 28km, but you'd probably run into weight issues too when factoring how large a satellite/rocket can be held by a balloon too.

I wonder how far he had to drive to pick that up? (did they say distance traveled?)
I'm surprised it stayed relatively close to him.

ya i always thot lower altitude was the most fuel draining and therefore weight demanding from fuel+booster because gravity+air friction.

imagine launching instead from a 28km tall mountain. im sure thatd be much cheaper barring cost of dragging shit up there

plus the balloons would be easily reusable

someone rep fool for me
break down that pic of the fish
what's going on with the water? air? in that thing
gotta grab my glasses

looks like fish is swimming right side up ok
I'm guessing it's in water, but almost looks like it's swimming in air part
sick&twisted scientists learnin' thangs

Do you think when those fish tell other fish they meet what they have seen, the other fish are like 'yeah...right'

Meanwhile back in the pond:

Goldfish1: No seriously, then they took me up to the mothership...

Goldfish2: Shut up Larry, we all know you were wasted last night and we found you passed out in the lilies this morning.

You are such a dipshit. If we used big balloons, we could shade the Earth and bring the temp down. ffs

most satellites that are going up in space r now are really small, only a few inches across, but the rocket to get them into a stable orbit wouldn't work on a balloon or maybe it might idk im not a fukn balloon physicist I fuck planets

look up stratolauncher
its a plane based rocket to space
same idea
less dumb

if they tied balloons to the airplane wings it would rise faster. nothing rises faster than a balloon, did you even take science class. it's physically impossible.
