But basically zero is not zero.
Like, how many airline flights do we have per day? Per year?
Three planes crash into buildings and everyone FREAKS OUT. Go figure, right?

If you played Powerball 180 days of the year for 14 years, how many times will you win Powerball?
Hint: You're twice as likely to win Powerball than getting shot in a school on any given day.

Zero is impossible, as I already pointed out. People freaking out is irrelevant, again because it is an emotional response in spite of practical reality.

You've established that school shootings are rare, but you have not established why you think it's okay that they happen at all.

Banning the easy access and easy availability of guns isn't feasible, it should happen but I can't see it. The US is a gun culture, may as well try to regulate chopsticks in China.
I still blame the internet, ppl are now trying to beat the high score or unlock that achievement.
Maybe it correlates to the Obama years? Ppl will take another 3 or 4 to wind down from that.
Current streak is 58 victims so the kids have got a bit of work to do there

ugh... you have an openly elected government.
And if you think guns are 'keeping the government in line' then you grossly misunderstand the capabilities of your military and intelligence agencies. That's no longer a battle which civilians can win.

Great arguments.
After 9/11, they had armed military guards at airport check points with M16s. Eventually it stopped. Why? It was over kill for the situation.
Down here in Florida, the schools now have 1 entry/exit point, and there is an armed guard in each school (a resource officer). The one entry/exit point is fine, but the armed guard thing is over kill. The tax payers have to pay for it. Schools were always under funded, yet they found a way to hire a resource office for each school and install 15,000 cameras in Dade County linking them to a central monitor station.
It's like sky marshal on jets that you never know about, and never gets used. The passengers end up restraining a drunk.
So they put all this security with extra people, and stuff happens in other places.

are you under the impression that the entire US military will turn on it's own people?

i wish, in some ways, mental health could be a factor in the 4473 but... its a logistical nightmare...not that i dont think it merits discussion.
talking about restricting rights based on predicting behaviour based on a doctor's diagnosis? do you restrict based on medication? how do you share this info with fbi?...and is that a good idea?
instead of jumping into that pit of hell.. put a cop in every school? or arm a teacher?

are you more concerned with school shootings, or shootings? or better yet, murder/violent crime?

better to implement another hastily bad idea (that provably doesn't and didn't work) than do nothing at all
because someone should really DO SOMETHING
i forget how this works and is supposed to keep working (by not working) in the Western world that is rapidly going to **** because of this mindset

The parkland kids obviously beat those odds. So did sandy hook, etc.
1 in 614 million is the chance of getting shot on a particular day.
Like if you went to school for one day, it's 1 in 614 million.
But kids go to school for 2,520 days.

dem playbook:
- everyone is racist but them
- rich arent paying their fair share*
- gunz are evil
- girl power
- sanctuary cities for all
* does not apply to rich progressives like bezos, gates, zuckerturd, etc.
