it's like winning the special olympics.
Some of the best games weren't even in the ladder. The world tournament was *****ing awesome.
Shoutcasting was in it's height. Boris and Wonderdog/beatstick and all them? Awesome. Chrisaveli too.

Before that I'm pretty sure COWs were on top and I can't remember but I think Synergy was also at one time. Then Western Alliance held the top spot for quite awhile before finally losing to IE, and IE held it for an eternity.
I'm pretty sure FTM held and defended the spot for about a month or so, b/c I remember feeling that the top spot was up for grabs for the first time in a long time.

You should have given classic a chance Stock T2 was balls
I also won TWC with US West Angy, those were some intense matches, especially against US East and Sweden.

I dont think COWS made it to #1, I know WA was for awhile though and it was essentially the same team, atleast a month or two. I'll facebook shag and see if he remembers.

It's fun to think about all the teams I could have been on if I ever played the game for more than a couple of months at a time. I remember first coming back after a hiatus and my pals had made sticks, some were in 5150, and cy was a ******.
Instead I am a nobody...thankfully.

JAMZ took #1 from NuTz, then fallout took it from us.

I couldn't remember if Fallout was on OGL or not, at the time I was doing lots of drugs, that might have been TWL era? I kinda want to think OGL died with POE at #1...

I still wish t1 C&H maps were played in late t1 comp gameplay. Playing competitive C&H matches and scrims were pretty memorable.

TWC was great fun to follow when i was 11. USA West was awesome. I still watch Bluenose's demos from time to time. I remember everyone being shocked USA East lost to Finland or Sweden (?), who then lost to US West in the championship. Some close games.
Did TWC prove USA west had the best players? Most of IE and S3 were from the west coast right? 5150?

We pinged 250+ to your central server "compromise". Not a whole lot different than playing on your east coast.

things i almost learned from tribes when i was 10 (hope it makes u guys nostalgia :-))
- tequila saying "lortz weighed a buck 20 soaking wet" and not knowing what that meant
- tequila having like a 2000x2000 pixel sig of a girl spread eagled and me being grossed out by it
- not knowing what astroglide's name meant
bonus pts if u remember {IBT} :-)

Did Reckless Abondon ever hold #1? I know RA and HT are the two most underrated teams in the history of Tribes, they both kicked the **** out of RG in our prime, but they had too many personalities to hold the teams together for very long. kZ was also an early but awesome tribe worth mentioning. 5150 and IE basically leeched most of their talent from those teams, Fallen too.
I also forgot to mention KI on my capper list. KI was an awesome and underrated player, IMHO a top 5 player, although he was more LO/escort and HO like I was than capper, although we both backup capped a lot to keep pressure on the defense when our real cappers were setting up. slut also goes on the capper list, although I think he was more LO too in T1 than cap, he was dedicated to capping in T2 though.

i'm still almost positive HT had #1 on ogl at some point if n$ did, because HT kicked n$ around for months until we finally lost and then disbanded

HT was #1 several times for various stretches, but I think you might be thinking of TWL.

I just can't remember who it was. It was pretty legit top 10 still I think at that point, lots of retiring was happening, but still some good teams, then All off a sudden Khorne was #2.
Then someone raced to challenge them and they dropped to 3, and it kept happening, and the 10-25 flooded in at this point.
Help me out. Who was it? Does anyone remember?
edit: These are all fuzzy details and I was mainly following on predict it and various shoutcasts through the ordeal.

That sounds like Void, when they took a forfeit win to be at the top of the ladder (rules are rules right?) and then lost like 7 in a row before asking admins to be dropped back into the twenties. I don't remember this stuff too clearly anymore either. Black Lance and VuP also had something similar happen.
