Casting is unexpected, premise is ridiculous, somehow it comes together perfectly. It starts out a little slow, but as it goes on you understand why, there's a lot of subtle forshadowing that has to happen in order to make the second half even more messed up than what you get from the trailer. It's not a comedy but there are a lot of "What the **** did I just see!?!" moments.

The trailer and the casting does make you think it's going to be a bait-n-switch into some ironic comedy, but it's not, neither James nor McHale are playing it for laughs at all.
Think "Home Alone", but instead of silly bungling burglars, they're straight up murderers who just escaped from prison, and then instead of Kevin making cute, goofy traps to trip up the bad guys, "Kevin" (Becky) is a 13 year old budding sociopath who goes on a full-on Rambo killing spree.
And then before you think to yourself "This is such a ****ed up, awesome idea, there's no way they will see it through to the end..." but hell yeah, they take it all the way to the most awesome ending I've seen in a while...
I highly recommend watching this as soon as possible.
