I was being pretty sarcastic. No government can be replaced in a matter of 24-48 hours. You can try, you can say you replaced the old government, but governments are just too large. Any changes made under those circumstances would be ineffective. The egyptians are stupid if they go for this, I would imagine it would just make things worse, as you're probably replacing corrupt but effective people with incompetent people, who aren't likely to be less corruptible.

The news was reporting last night that the crowd was actually against looting and had attacked a couple looters. looks like thats changed

i think they said a lot of the looting is happening in mahdi, which is the rich expat area of cairo.

I think Mubarak thinks if he cleans out his leadership (except for himself) that everything will cool down. I don't think he gets it that HE is the person they are really *****ing about. He doesnt want to give up that seat.

Times reported the army is getting along amicably with the protesters, allowing them to borrow, spray paint, or use tanks and vehicles as rest stops. Protesters are taking them tea, chatting with them and the like. NYT suggested it's because military service is mandatory, so the troops and protesters have a sense of comradery.
