ATX power supply.. wtf

bought a new mobo. set it up. cpu, ram, gpu, etc.

Fucking power supply has a different fucking ATX main connector for the mobo.. wtf? There are about 4 "holes"/"ports" missing.

What in sam hell

Friends comp I'm building on.. he's on a limited budget. I like to build a computer KNOWING I don't have to fuck around with old shit/new shit.

I'm guessing his power supply is too old?

Enermax 460W atx.. doesn't look bad.

Really? With no problems? I mean he's eventually going to need to update.. that amount of watts isn't going to be enough for a 512 ded. GPU.

But for now, it should work?

yeah works fine with 4 open ports

there should be another 4pin connector that goes elsewhere on the mobo, though

Ok, upon further inspection of the power supply.. There's the 4 pin connector to the port near CPU, then there's a 20 pin ATX... and a spare 4 pin. Would it be safe to plug this into the extra 4 pins left over on the ATX?

The piece LOOK like they're are designed to be that way, but I don't want to fuck anything up.
