It's a government report. The sources are named at the end. What would you accept as a credible source then?

a source that actually says what the video says, for starters. as it is, the video, and you, are just lying. I absolutely guarantee you that more than 0 people died of salmonella in the UK in 2016, at least by the same estimating standards as the CDC.

I can also guarantee that if you take the lab confirmed cases and multiply by 25 like the CDC did, you will arrive at similar numbers as the US. unfortunately, I have no idea what methodology was used for any of the video's UK numbers because there is no source for them. based on CDC's sources of the UK, and the apples to apples comparison of the US lab results to UK lab results from your source, I can DEDUCE (evidence!) that salmonella infections are equally common in the UK as the US.

what would you consider a decent life for a dumb chicken and a dumb cow?

There's a very good reason we don't name them.

Also, "higher functioning mammal" is generous. Higher than what? A mouse? An elephant? We can talk about relative brain size if you want, but nobody puts a cow or a sheep or a pig in the same class as the Great Apes, much less claim that they're some kind of hyper-intelligent species.

Most livestock breeds wouldn't exist at all if we hadn't engineered them to be a reliable food source. And considering all we usually ask of them is to grow up and get fat in relative comfort and safety, they have it pretty ****ing good.

What qualifies as a "decent life" to you?

How can you people eat that disgusting ****.

All hail capitalism, amirite?
Went to a Scotland “high-end burger joint” in Inverness. Was told they only do their burgers well done.

Rofl. Yeah less food poisoning because you ****s literally burn the **** out of all your food.

Yet funny as that may seem the only time I’ve ever had food poisoning was on the isle of the sky.

ok
I needed a bit to think
but I feel a sense of responsibility for these animals
that i eat
that I do think have some bit of intelligence
can feel pain, long term memory of suffering
they are a pet in a sense
i've created it for food
long changed from what it was
but it still has 'needs' of space, cleanliness, play
they should be killed humanely and quickly

i believe my GOD would want me to behave this way

I feel bad. Just nothing I do will change it. I buy half a cow at a time from a butcher I know and he knows the rancher. Same with pork.

Chicken is one I buy from mass producers. I grow and can my own vegetables. I have a small tent green house that I grow herbs and lettuce varieties all year round.

So it is what it is.
