i can do pull-ups with one finger from each hand, but i can't do a one-finger pull-up with only one arm

Being able to warp your fingers around a chin up bar and using your forearm muscles to hold on and do pull ups from is easy. Even I could do one finger pull ups that way. Using only your tendons and hanging from your Distal/Proximal Interphalanges to support your whole body weight is entirely different.

Watch this video at 14 seconds of Dani Andrada training on a campus board and you'll see what I mean: YouTube - Dani Andrada Training

You can't really tell from that angle but campus boards aren't made completely vertical either, they're slightly overhanging. Thats why when Dani dynos (jumps) you see his whole body swing out. That's a small crimpy campus board too, hes only hanging off from his DIPs.

That video of Iker Pou doing the 2 finger dyno was impressive because he was probably only hanging from his PIPs. Most people who don't rock climb aren't aware how incredibly amazing that is, and how much power the tendons in your fingers need to pull of such a feat. Well... now you know =]

i'm aware of the difference, and i wouldn't call 1-finger pull-ups on a bar easy by any means

i can do 2-finger pull-ups off the trim in a doorway, though

just so no one gets the wrong impression, i'm not trying to compare myself to that climber, was just answering glare
