i mean the exact point is that people on the other side aren't using the same definition of socialism you are
people who value things like intellectual discourse and careers in high paying fields tend to rely on falsifiability to identify the validity of claims and so long as socialism has no definition (intentionally not defined by marx because he was a half wit circle jerker) claims about socialism are unfalsifiable
just say that command economies don't work, that pretty much covers all the massive failures calling themselves socialists/communists and leaves out the ones that succeeded
but now we don't have anything to disagree with oh no

What? Socialism is exact in its economic policy. The State controls all the means of production (labor, wages, costs, etc.) and all property is owned by the State and all of this is controlled through a central planning department.
The Nordic states use the term socialism in their own explanation of what they are but in reality, they are nothing more than massive Welfare States, as most of the economy is still controlled privately, wages are controlled privately, and people can own property, including their bodies.

yeah see this is exactly it, you have made up this definition (actually a tv man probably made it up and sold it you at some point) as a way of describing the ussr, but the actual term you are looking for is command economy, branded or if you want to be optimistic conceived as "socialism"
when socialists in norway talk about being socialists they don't secretly mean this definition but we'll pretend we mean something else so the dumdum capitalists don't come get us
if you have actually read marx or his wikipedia page you know that socialism is when the law of value ceases to drive economic activity or when the workers own the means of production, which can easily be stretched to mean companies are publically traded and everyone can buy stock
marx didn't define anything practical because he was an idiot and anyone calling themselves a socialist is just guessing at what they think counts as workers owning the means of production, including tons of dissent which you may recall involving massive bloodshed in every communist revolution (because they all had their own idea of what socialism was), only from an outside "we gotta stop the commies" view does it look at all unified

socialism was also conceived as a transitional state, so socialists co-existing with or even endorsing elements of capitalism is a feature of the system as proposed, not a bug

I'm hoping I'm wrong and that I can come back on board with President Trump. I'm hoping being close friends with Israel is the right thing to do...
I hope Israel doesn't just throw us under the bus. What do I know I'm just a Layman. I just didn't know that him saying 'America first' actually meant 'but Israel firster'.
