Hi friends

This June I'll be doing a 2 day, 180km ride in benefit of multiple sclerosis with some pals

I have done longer rides before but never 2 days in a row. Apparently there's not many climbs and etc. Any pro tips/training tips to prepare other than just ride a lot?

Id post this in the cycling thread but the fitness forum is a bot graveyard so I didn't want to anger the spirits

I'm in regina right now but when I get home I'll see if I still have contact info for a guy that worked for me. He did triathlon and bike races. He is local to us and would be a good resource for you guys.

Sorry, I came into the thread expecting a motorcycle ride of some length. The word bikers has a different frame of reference for me. 180km is a walk in the park on my Electra Glide.

Hmmm, that's 55 miles a day. Seems like 3 hours of riding each. You are probably worried about the 2nd day. I guess you could train by riding consecutive days so you get used to that. You'll probably be in shape by then and it will be easy if you are drafting in a pack. It will probably be fun. I'm sure there will be a fast pack, and a medium pack to pick from. I would say on the weekends you could try a Sat/Sun ride. During the week train as usual working up your distance.

Invest in a ped-electic.

Your "pals" will be the ones worrying about day 2.

Yeah we are already planning on doing long 4+ hour rides in the morning when it warms up. Could probably do some back to back training days to get used to being in the saddle that long as we approach the day , good idea

But suffering is why we ride bikes in the first place!
