One of those images burned into my mind forever. Me and the pals skiing down the village road trying to get to the pub top speed after a long day. Rounding a corner and there was the Beast. Coming right at us. Swiss guy hanging off the passenger side in yellow gear. Waving his arm for us to get the **** out of the way. Us trying to stop. We just went up over the edge and threw ourselves over like a bunch of loons. Of course, they have control over the blades and had shut it down but they were having an awesome time watching the foreigners flail around. Of course, they were trying to get to the pub as well. We dusted off, skied across the field and were at the pub in no time. But just the thought... Ugh.

[so] Today I possibly did the most redneck thing I've ever done.

As I had feared the A frame wouldn't lift high enough with the push bracket in the new position. It interfered with the lifting bracket.

I would either have to move the push bracket, or raise the lifting bracket.

The Lifting bracket is welded to custom built frame inserts and will take some work to move. I would need to re-engineer the mounts.

The push bracket seems to be pretty happy where it is.

I toyed with the idea of cutting the bottom of the lift bracket where it interfered, but it's pretty meaty at the bottom, and I would need to cut quite a bit. It may be meaty there for a reason..

Moving the push bracket down would be the easiest and get me plowing today before it freezes solid tonight, but how? Moving it down will put the bolts in even more tension, and possibly rip them out of the frame. I would also need something pretty strong that wouldn't crush flat with the force of hitting snow hard enough to stop the truck. Hmmm.
Spoiler

Tomorrow I'll see how much the frame got smashed and twisted, but for now I was able to shove some snow, and clean up most of the properties.

Plenty of foamy water here. To get stuck in..

oh, FARM party? Not sure, and shop cat would like to have a talk with you.

Truck's been a little stinkier than usual, and going through more gas than expected. I got on a buddies shop lift today. The tank is shot, and return line is leaking.

Maybe I should address this also...

Ordered a new tank, straps, tank support member, and the flex lines to the engine. Maybe I should stop high- siding it on ice piles.

One of the reason's why I keep fixing this garbage.

I did manage to fix something today, the drivers side wiper linkage broke sometime last winter. Pulled the wiper arms and cover off at the shop and found this..

That's the wiper motor, and the passenger side linkage. The drivers side linkage attaches to the ball on the end.

The driver side linkage hanging out in the breeze.

Covered the ball end with grease, slapped it together, and zip tied the **** out it.

Works for now, I may go dig out a buddies driveway tomorrow.

Yeah - you know it's a cold-weather, outside-ish cat because their ears get rounded due to frostbite.
