Saw one at the local store.
Not too expensive.
How does it sound, play?

I wish I knew.

It makes sense to me though. My fretless' two lower strings don't sound nearly as good as the two higher ones. That Ashula sounds good all the way.

d'oh. I don't think I would want it in place of two basses though.

One guy I'm sure doesn't wish he was a guitarist.

Just found this. The guy flips a lever and the frets pop up into place.
