Casey Marchese Or maybe we should share why it's important to teach children the lesson at a young age that blindly following a person that could and now will lead your country, without fully understanding and making an educated/informed decision in their policies - would benefit all Americans as a whole. Clearly this woman did not actually leave her child out on the curb. She did not beat the child, she merely was a bit unconventional in making sure her son understands the implications of his blind decision to vote for someone because he "saw him on tv a lot" (for anyone that actually listened to the entire video). What is scary is the amount white privilege reactions spewing towards this video. Sure this mothers method is a different (for anyone who is horrified, you need to grow a pair.) everyone who is spitting out these horrifying hateful words about her and how she should go to jail, should really ask themselves... why is she so angered by her sons's decision? Could it be that his decision to blindly support a bigot that has clear intention to remove precious rights for ALL women, minorities, LGBT, muslims, and openly share worlds of hate is hurtful? Privilege is when you think something is not a problem because it's not a problem to you personally. Now let's put white privilege in and see how messed up all the reactions to this video are. Now let's think of it another way. To all the mothers/caregivers right now (of any race) who have sons or daughters that are openly verbally and harassing minorities, muslims, LGBT, and others... defaming property with hateful slurs, swastikas, ripping turbans off people's heads, physically beating people for their voting decision... ya think they'd be doing that now if they didn't learn the lesson early on, that hate, racism, sexism.... should not and cannot be allowed? In their eyes, trumps election means they can do all these horrible things to these marginalized groups. White privilege is ... attacking this woman without even attempting to consider the possibly she's trying to protect her child from manifesting into a hateful human being. Focus on how racism, hate, sexism, xenophobia starts. These children are our future and there are a shockingly embarrassing amount of adults who were never taught how to love, how to accept, and how to grow together instead of spew hate. Be the change to yourself and all generations because all these nasty words to this woman is the definition of white privilege and does nothing to eliminate the real problem of why this country is so divided.
