[T:V] Incorporating engine updates from Epic/Infogrames/Atari?

After finally seeing the UT2K4 video with vehicles in it, I'm wondering if the edited T:V engine will include the updates they are making to it for such games as UT2K4? Their vehicle implementation looks pretty smooth (although it needs board and bail animations), so I was wondering if it would be similar in Tribes: Vengeance?

Basically, are you still getting updates from the engine developers, or are you doing all that in-house?

Anyone who buys the UT engine gets whatever updates/improvments made to it, thats part of the reason the price tag is so insane. Whether or not the updates are implemented are up to the developer using the engine.

I thought it was $500,000 (or around thereabouts anyway)

Anyway...the vehicle code is in unreal2k3 as well...there is a vehicle demo that comes with it.

and the developers of the unreal engine made unreal2k3 and 2k4 so they didn't have to pay for it, heh.

There are a variety of ways to get the engine. You can make a single payment, you can make a much lower payment, and agree to give them points on the back end, or you can make the best UT mod and get it for free. Of course everything is negotiable, so if you're going to make 5 Unreal games, you can get a better deal than if you're going to make 1. Your mileage may vary.

Well, looks like they won't release any prices openly on their website.

I'm guessing prices are negotiated per comapny per title. Maybe they get a bigger cut off more sucessful games, I really don't know as I couldn't find any legal info.

Someone could mail this guy:

email: mrein @ epicgames.com

if they cared enough that is.

Thrax did you enjoy your time away from us? We expected you to finish T3 in your spare time
