Joe Rogan has changed noticeably imo. His last podcast with Bret Weinstein had a strong 'virtue signal' vibe when discussing George Floyd. There didn't seem to be any open mindedness or speculation into the matter from Joe.

It's a hot topic and I can understand Joe signaling 'don't hurt me' to the masses on the eve of him being paid $100M - but this climate is only going to get worse in the years to come and if Joe is just here to protect his money then I don't think his platform is what it once represented.

Joe just appeals to a more **** yeah kind of crowd. I like a lot of what he has on, I’m just not going to fool myself by not acknowledging he is pandering to me.

Truth is not achievable with media anymore, none of them
joe rogan is a stoner hang out show. it's not news and it's not pretending to be, you watch it because you want to hear funny or interesting stories or because you're high and playing video games.

idk i haven't listened for a year or so just cuz i was bored with it. maybe he does talk like a political pundit now and isn't super high every episode.

Maybe, i admit I’ve become real cynical these days. Pretty much hate everyone with an opinion and everyone crying for attention. So it’s probably me to be honest.

the thing is, he said as much. he was saying “no one is defending chauvin”. everyone sees the video and thinks yeah murder. and you have to consider the date this was stated.
it was weinstein that pointed out...this isnt done yet. they can make a decent defense and the possibility of an acquittal may seem impossible but its not.

if you saw outrage over floyds death as virtue signalling...i mean you have A LOT of people then guilty.
there is an element of joining in with outrage when its safe, which im sure many people did. but this was a case where a vast majority of people were on the same page. so concluding “virtue signal” isnt fair imo.

this is a valid concern and its always possible. that said, he also had jocko on right away to explain why defunding police is retarded.

joe is a lefty at heart. hes just not a radicalized religious zealot. yet at least. hes still hosting guests that are talking about things you dont hear.

That set is so ****... Barring any conversational misgivings on the topic, his set looks like seedy titty bar. It has the lighting and production value of a porno shoot inside of a K-Mart.

I can't even bring myself to watch the new episodes because I genuinely feel gross looking at the screen.

I think that's more because of his personality than business related reasons. He seems very self conscious of criticism. Before he was popular the only people who listened to him were into comedy, drugs, or MMA. Since his appeal got wider that's just more people nit picking and complaining and I think it gets to him.

This should be mandated by law. Nevermind Joe Rogan, but just having an honest to goodness 4 hour dialogue between the presidential candidates would probably do wonders for American politics.

can you list some things that would likely change if there was a 4 hour debate no one watched instead of three two hour debates no one watched

The format of a debate vs a conversation... you know, a human way to exchange ideas. It'd be nice to have political rivals just talk like men for a few hours that's all.

you can just listen to cspan if you want that, you get to hear regular exchanges between congressmen all the time. it's... not that educational. but surprise surprise america considers you a weirdo freak if you listen to cspan. where's the talking head telling me what to think?

Bull**** political exchanges in front of an audience of their peers....more garbage partisan grandstanding. It's just not the same thing at all.

I remember Tulsi talking to Rogan about it on a podcast, basically within the first few days of going to work as a congressman she's told not to engage with her rivals and that her job is to get "wins" for her party. They immediately stifle the exchange of ideas in the political system.

uh okay that's literally all that politics is tho. . . you cannot put two politicians in a room in front of a broadcast audience for 4 hours and expect suddenly they will forget they have a job to do and talk "like men". let alone legally mandate such a conversation. we have a legally mandated political conversation. it is called congress. parliament in dog countries. like it or not, that is what you get when elected officials are forced to sit in a room together.

tulsi is allowed to do whatever she wants. no one can "tell her" how to do her job. if she is spineless that's great. america loves voting for spineless cowards, check out the one in the white house right now.
