i only go on SA every now and then, not sure how they feel about this kind of stuff. haven't really seen it much
 
Perhaps a separate thread is in order to discuss potential contest strategies and logistics? I'm sure we have some guys around that have some good resources and skills for helping you set up something, but that's just a suggestion.
 
I'm just trying to figure out how much I really want to put into this. I have no problem with the commitment I have made to TW but really it would take a pretty big ticket item to have the success that they have had with their xbox plus they have an business backing them that seems to see quite a bit of traffic even though the site looks like shit.

Basically I still think with out anything we can come close but probably not win. If I throw money at the problem its still a toss up but in the end I could be in for >$1000 and still come in second. Weighing the odds here.

Well, the whole point is to win a free wedding. You might as well take that money and put it away to spend on your wedding in case you don't win.

at the same time the $500 or what ever more I put into this wouldn't pay for a wedding. we already have a pretty damn crazy network of voters. Our facebook group is getting huge and I could just use that as the gateway to the contest. 300+accepted 2500+ invited.

Like I have said if we don't win this we already planned on putting it off for 2 years until her post grad education was done and at that point the $500 saved now is pennies.

The fact that their contest is based around a business is one of the only things that makes me hesitant. Any of you have an online retailer and want to help me out? :p
 
so i just took a crack at one of the largest groups on facebook "women". I messaged all of the admins attempting to get them to spam the 200,000+ person group.

wonder if my ploy will work...

we've actually done pretty well today. 20 or so new guys and at least half of the people from yesterday have voted again today. if the 160 people from TW who have decided to help out average 25 votes thats a solid 4k votes from this place alone. Hopefully more will get with the program and help out. I see there are 400+ active right now. wonder what they are doing :p

I'll set up my school email and work email from school and work tomorrow. Trying to keep my home email just on my home connection (just in case they do check IPs)
