I'd wait until you've actually played him before buying him with IP. he hasn't been a free champ since i've started playing, so i think he should be due soon.

If the launcher gives you a red 'unavailable' you can do the following:

Open the launcher, don't hit any buttons/click anything, other then to give it focus
Enter the following code with the arrow keys:
Up, down, left, right, up, up, down, down.

Congrats, the server is now available and you can go to the login screen. They throttle the logins so at least some people are able to login at peak login times, instead of no one at all.

;)

It's the backdoor riot put in for testing + their use. Its semi-public knowledge these days, but don't spread it too much, if it gets too overused they will change it.

It's on their FAQ.

NOTE: I tried to find it on the site just to prove a point and I, so far, have been unable to. I know I ran across it one day though. Perhaps they took it off the site?

In game name: 3PIK Level 22. PM me vent info if you all have one you prefer to play on.

Wow, they actually managed to put the concept of summoners in the video.

How did they change the UI?

Also, the suggested item builds were probably my favorite thing about this game since it gave you a decent starting point for the heroes. I hated trying a new hero in DotA and thinking "What item build should I go...".

I don't think they changed the UI in-game at all. (I have yet to fire it up, however I watched my roommate play a bit). The lobby area has changed though.

Also, incoming "suggested builds are terrible". :p I agree with both sides. Just starting out, it's wonderful having an idea of what to do with items... But there are usually some slightly better builds. I'm a big fan of "play who you enjoy and the way you enjoy playing them."

on some heros the suggested builds hit most of the things you want. its not a bad guide, although they need to make the interface faster, like submenus
