so so far the only lagit carving in this thread is lucius's?

and im getting close to mine being donw .... now just to find a digi cammera


does anyone know if you can buy a disposable and have them put the pics onto a CD or floppy ?

i noticed you have to carve pretty deep eather that or remove some of the inside where your pic is. i did half and half carved about half way on the outside then scraped the inside till it glowed to my likeing

took the pic in my bathroom where it can get nice and dark

the haunted house one i made 2 years ago, the Darth maul is still the best other then the goatse. I've racked my brain and can't top either. Don't get me wrong I carve a mean pumpkin, but that Darth maul is sweet, and the goatse is tribal war
 
Don't end the contest yet. We're carving our pumpkin this weekend.

Any tips from the pro's? We russians don't do Halloween, so this isn't a skill I learned as a kid. ;)

Of course it doesn't end till the 31st which is the entire point of pumpkin carving. Seriously, I thouhgt you were fsb-spy super immagrant #1 for a moment.



Tips? Box cutter works good for doing multiple layers. Chisels good for scraping away, digging, etc.

Use a sharp knife, but it's better if it's not a wide chef's knife imo. The sharper the better tho so you don't end up slicing your hand open.

Carve it outside or in a bag so you don't get pumpkin gets all over the place.

I'm not really a pro tho, this was the first time I tried doing a multi level carving.
 
take your time when doin the skinning or cutting. thats prolly the best advise.

i found thatthe smallest skinnyest blase you can find works really good. A jiggsay blade works well for this. or one of those pumpkin carving kits they actually work really good.
