the 4 hr hbomax snyder cut is a new cut; snyder is working on it now w/post production effects and editing.

the open question is whether snyders original feature cut was “completed”. i believe wb wanted to say that snyder wasnt done and whedon came in to finish.

the more likely, rumored story is that snyder was done or nearly done, wb execs hated it, whedon refilmed a VAST majority of the released version.

judging from what we see in the trailer, it seems like the likely situation.

DCU is rushed trash with no common vision, bland characters, and no interesting plot. Can't imagine why it failed.

its about to be even nuttier with hbomax posturing to produce more content with affleck with wb produces different, unlinked features possible starring...the same people? is gal going to appear in the hbomax cinematic universe and wb dceu?

then you have the flashpoint feature with michael keaton...they are literally shovelling money at joaquin phoenix to do sequels...

dont get me wrong, i think mcu will bomb a few soon too. they are oversaturating HEAVILY with their 42 disney+ projects...and eternals will probably be the first bomb.

Simple answer: Politics. Politics is ruining everything.

I genuinely hope that this doesn't suck. For Snyders sake, it better be up to expectations and at least come off as a decent movie that redeems the released theatrical version at the very minimum.

It might not be the second-coming of the DC universe... but it better not suck.


The original Snyder Cut was apparently complete... but it lacked polish to clean up the post production, add in the missing pieces like special effects shots, audio and scoring... but the film itself was done. It just wasn't "theater ready", which is why they can't just publish the "Snyder Cut" and call it a day, they still have to invest something like 20 million dollars to polish it up for viewing and public release.

Plus, I'm sure they may have had some ideas and feedback to add in things to maybe just seal the deal and put it over the top.


However... this is a Zack Snyder movie... so... it might look pretty.... but it might also still suck. I'm 50/50 on whether this will be worth all the hype.

I'd say Shang-Chi. 4 movies a year is a mistake given there's no meta plot that anyone is interested in. Frankly the pandemic might be saving the MCU just because it's giving a breather. They'll get a bump again with S3, T4, and DR2.

it certainly wont do well in na after eternals bombs

that said if world of warcraft can break even thanks to china, i think shang chi will earn more enough.

but yeah this break is probably helping them. but i think once we get 10 different disney+ shows to follow, people gonna pass on the likes of shehulk and ms marvel. even this wandavision show seems weird as **** and wholly unnecessary.

I'm ok with it if it's a different (and better) version of Electro, similar to Deadpool in Wolverine Origins and Deadpool in Deadpool. I mean they brought back JK Simmons.

I also thought Guardians was a risky play and that turned out great.
