ABORTION BILL PASSED. gg texas

some rich guy in the 80's realized he could pass his agenda easier (christian fundamentalist bullshit) for all the nation if he rigged the education board
so he did
all those fuck heads are creationist assholes and now we have this huge mess on our hands

texas dictates the nation for textbook information

the ABORTION BILL didn't seem to bad, really. I'm all for abortion and what not, but the bill proposed:

no abortions after 20 weeks
doctor performing must be surgery certified
doctor must have patient admission privileges at local hospitals

And that's about it. The number of abortion facilities in the state would drop from 37 to 5, pretty far from an out right ban.

California is #1 when it comes to dictation of textbook information. Texas is #2.

Texas has people on the state board of education that didn't finish high school.

I found this to be unlikely, so I looked through the members ( Texas Education Agency - SBOE Officers, Committees, and Members )

Three of them apparently don't have a post-secondary degree:
Texas Education Agency - SBOE Member District 7
Texas Education Agency - SBOE Member District 10
Texas Education Agency - SBOE Member District 2

Although they appear to have graduated from high school at least.

The rest have at least their bachelors.

Why does the state government have the right to curtail a medical clinic performing legal services?

your place is too fractured and lawly
texas #1 when it comes to textbooking

also 37 clinics to 5 clinics basically means you have to drive to one of the big cities, find it in all that huge mess, and wait in big lines
and in texas, a drive to a big city could be 3 hours
maybe you have a shitty car or w/e

it's no good

while this didnt pass last night, im guessing it will at the next session...cant wait to see teen and unwanted pregnancies skyrocket in texas resulting in more expenditures for the state government just to enforce some bogus religious based conservative beliefs on 17 million ppl.

gg irrationality

Well that is good. My facts were a couple years old, but I hope those three aren't a controlling bunch.

For the topic at hand, I really wish they would just force any girl under 19 years old to get an abortion. It's probably cheaper than the shit we have going on right now.

The problem with the state board of education is that you have uninformed laymen making decisions about intellectual education. How many members of the Social Studies committee had degrees in History, Political Science, or some other related field? Zero.

To the religious zealots of my state, this is not important, the bible is the history book, religion trumps science

It will take time but we are slowly turning into a blue state
