[The 80's] How come in two decades we haven't made better fucking board games?

Torpedo Run was fucking awesome. What have we got now? Sixty five editions of Monopoly? Some shitty game about a bunch of peaceful settlers on some shit ass island?

And don't forget CROSSFIRE and all those crazy games.

Discuss.

are you kidding

only the coolest rich kids owned games like Torpedo Run

because they were the only people with rooms large enough to play it and parents wealthy enough to front the cost of it

in conclusion:

suck a dick fagmo

man I wish I could play Torpedo Run

there was nothing more awesome than placing a perfect shot and just seeing the enemy ship explode in a cascade of awesomeness

Inside Moves was a great one, it was a weird combination that was a mix of chess and checkers that was pretty fun.

Inside Moves original name was Camelot, and apparently there is a federation for it.

Axis and Allies is fun to play, just a bitch to setup.

setting up is easy..tearing that shit down is a pain in the fucking ass...you throw it all back in the box and then 2 years later when u get to play again you bitch yourself out for not putting it away neat lmao.

I owned all 4 of those games when I was a kid (technically Torpedo Run belonged to my bro because it came out before I was born) and they were all fucking awesome

These days all the board games are for prissy fags who would rather sit around and talk about their feelings and their crop harvest instead of whipping catapult balls at castles which promptly exploded in showers of plastic

I hate axis and allies. In 2 hours, you get 3 turns, maybe 4 and the game is pretty much over. Spending 45 minutes deciding how many aircraft are going to attack with all the skill of a dice roll isn't fun, sorry.

Chess
Stratego
Scrabble
Risk

Those games are all still fun.
