My aunt just posted this on her fb wall... and she believes it. 
It's a successful campaign to raise awareness. Don't agree? Go look at the causes on Facebook that outreach to victims of abuse and also have support hotlines and prevention/reporting tools. Many of those organizations have seen an increase in donations since this whole "cartoon campaign" began. So whether or not you think it's doing anything, the numbers are there. It is both raising awareness and bringing in donations.
