[NBA] 2017-2018 Regular Season

Scum is a little harsh. He's definitely flawed.

Interesting situation around here in Oklahoma. I think people, deep down, know that Russ is the problem, and has been for many years. But, he's the one who was loyal, in the face of (what they view) as the ultimate act of disloyalty. So, there's a debt to be paid, a debt of loyalty. Kind for kind. Right or wrong, he's the one who stuck with us, and we're stuck with him.

Obviously, there is a group who outwardly admit Russ is the problem, and that group is growing. Whether he can change or not is the debate.

imo the only reasonable argument that the thunder's current situation is westbrook's fault is that he's the best player and the leader, and there's a responsibility that comes with being both of those things

anyone that thinks theres a problem with what he does on the court basketball-wise is nuts imo. i mean no shit he's not a perfect player and has flaws, but he still brings way WAY more to a team then he takes away. just look at his statline in the knicks loss

I've watched every Thunder game since they moved here. Not looked at stats on ESPN.com, but watched actual games. In my opinion, his ball dominant style of play is detrimental to the flow of the offense. Also, his ball watching/gambling style of defense is harmful to the structure of the defense. He thinks his way is the only way. Nothing will make me change my mind on this; my opinion has been formed over the past decade of basketball. It doesn't mean he can't change. I hope for the sake of the team he will.

prior to this week the thunder had the 2nd highest defensive rating in the league. they currently sit 3rd in team defensive rating, behind boston and somehow portland - they're ahead of GSW and the spurs. whatever you may (rightly) believe about his style of defense, it's not hurting the thunder in the greater scheme and hasn't so far this season

like i said, he's not a perfect player. he has flaws, the gif i posted last page makes that readily apparent. but theres narratives we, as human beings, create to try and explain/scapegoat just about everything. jordan was a toxic degenerate asshole that literally drove teamates to tears and ran them off the team. inbetween playoff games he would drive to a casino. nobody really gives a shit besides reading that as an interesting footnote since they kept winning. draymond green is literally a complete shitbag. he continually kicks people IN THE NUTS. nobody really faults him since as a player he contributes so much to the warrior's success. if the thunder were winning or perhaps even exceeding expectations, the media would be on his dick just like they were last year. but they're not, the thunder are struggling, and after throwing enough shit at the wall the narrative around westbrook being the problem has stuck and is suddenly smellin up the place

westbrook is an iso heavy, ball dominant, selfish player. that much is clear. he's been that way his entire career - but does his play actually HURT the thunder? how much are the the thunder's recent struggles & losses a result of HIS play? to me, the answer to both these questions is very little.

He’s a zero guard that can’t shoot threes in a league that requires passing and shooting.

SCUM! He’s Tyreke Evans with athleticism. PERIOD!

Steve fuckin’ Francis from 2001. THAT’S IT!

fucking lavar ball is going to destroy his kids

LaVar Ball -- sons LiAngelo, LaMelo sign with agent Harrison Gaines

he pulled one out of ucla, and the other out of high school now so they can sign with the same agent as lonzo. the dream being that the two will go play international ball (on the same team) before both joining the lakers to play with lonzo.

it's going to be hilariously tragic next year when LJ goes to the lakers and the first player shipped to make room will be lonzo. and those two kids never get a whiff of the nba b/c of how their dad mishandled them.

he has flaws, the gif i posted last page makes that readily apparent.

Hadn't seen that. WTF? Did he need another assist for the statline or something? Dude has an open lay-up/dunk on the fast break and he passes out to a 1-on-3 contest. If you were coaching a bunch of kids and one of them did that, they'd be on the goddamn bench.

The Sixers are trading Jahlil Okafor, Nik Stauskas and a 2019 second-round pick to the Nets, in exchange for Trevor Booker.

The Nets' center spot has been a revolving door this season with Timofey Mozgov, Tyler Zeller, Jarrett Allen and Quincy Acy all getting minutes there, so Okafor figures to eclipse them in a hurry. He gives the Nets' offense a post-scorer dimension they've lacked, and should see plenty of usage once he's up to speed -- remember, he's played just 25 minutes this regular season. There are no guarantees, but he has enough upside in Brooklyn to be worth adding while you still can. This is also an obvious hit to Jarrett Allen's rest-of-season upside, as Brooklyn has two project big men to juggle.

jfc
my whole fantasy squad is injured. can't even pick up players off of waiver without them breaking too.

side note, love dsj
he lost the duel vs kyrie but he isnt backing down from nobody

eh
as well as JC is playing, lakers looking to part ways with JC
brolo getting 20 min a game looks like he's gonna be gone too
they also dont want any part of jrandle who has an extension coming up

agree that kuz/larry nance/ingram lookin good tho
ingram is either getting better mismatches or is more comfortable as his drives aren't looking as awkward anymore when attacking the hoop. if u saw him driving into the lane like a month ago it was cringey af
