[T3] please for the sake of god do not use gamespy

gamespy SUCKS

have a $pref::Quickstart type option, where after your config crap is setup, it goes straight to the server-join screen

with little buttons for each thing you want, similar to what SPY and i are working on in our own time (buttons w/ that clear font are yet to come)

short startup + map load times are vital

also some kind of external browser which is part of tribes, but doesn't require Tribes to load it (sure they'll be made, but it'd be far quicker for somebody with the src)
it should be bloat-free, and only feature required things..

The Tribes ingame browser (and admin/voting tools) have always been the best out of any game. PLEASE PLEASE don't use gamespy. I have no problems with it (never crashed or anything for me) however no need for the extra "baggage"
 
Btw, anyone else kind of think this thread is silly? I mean they didn't have gamespy bundled with tribes2, I don't see why'd they do it with tribes3.


To me it just seems like creating a problem that isn't there.
"Please don't bundle xupiter with tribes3!" kind of thing.


Anyways, even if their browser WAS gamespy exclusive, gamespy still has to follow protocal that can easily be emulated by the tribes community.

That's just how I see it tho.

Most games have gone to gayspy now, its getting rough on us gamers.

I enjoyed the liberal ways of Tribes 1 and 2 :)
