[NBA] 2017-2018 Regular Season

Tbh I'm happy mirotic got hurt for a bit we dont have to watch him suck anymore this season and bulls can for sure tank which somehow they might not had secured last in league knowing how dumb garpax are

LOL fun game

so many possessions

swaggy p sighting

draymond being out was the game changer, especially w/ iguodala already out. defense totally different

Double double with 5 assists for Ben Simmons on debut. Completely biased as an Aussie, but that looked pretty impressive. Yeah he needs to develop a jumper, but that's doable. PG skills on a frame like that, the dude has freak potential. Here's hoping he can live up to it.

the FEDS

'trust the process' chant was fucking loud on the road in dc last night

i could live a happy life if i never have to watch fultz's current ft form again tho - holy shit

his FT form is like those old teen movies where they swap brain + bodies. seems like some little girl possesses fultz for his freethrows

Lot's of impressive rookies/younger players right now. Oubre stood out to me especially, probably because I already wrote him off.

looks like for sure he's all star level talent

how much higher then that he can achieve idk

Fun bit of Ben Simmons trivia.. I presume the connection has been well made in the media over there already, but just on the off chance it hasn't already been extensively drawn out:

Head coach of the Sixers Brett Brown began his (professional) coaching career in Australia, picking up an assistant position at NBL franchise the Melbourne Tigers in the 90s. One of the two allowed "imports" on that side was a 6'9", 250lb PF/C from South Bronx and OKC by the name of Dave Simmons. Never really the star of the team (point guard Andrew Gaze was flag-bearer at the Olympics, and his paring with SG Lanard Copeland probably remains the premium 'dynamic duo' of the NBL), he was nonethelss a brilliant team player: capable of dominating if the need was there, but still happy to adjust his game to work with the team on the court, he earned both all-star honours in the league and a championship ring. Brown had left the side after that season to take up a head coaching position at a cross-city rival, but the bball community's pretty tight, and he was still around two years later when Dave's son Ben was born.

If Ben's taken his dad's influence on and can carry that same attitude, he's not only all-star individual talent, but should make a great team player and eventual leader as he matures into his role. It's way too early in his career to make serious predictions on where he'll wind up, but IM(biased)O the building blocks for a game like Lebron or Magic (talking in terms of game style, not necessarily level) are all there.

if brandon ingram falls out of the league he will easily be top 10 bust of all time and affect the laker franchise as much as the failed cp3 trade

the lakers traded 25 PPG 21 year old D'angelo russel for literally nothing, they just dumped him, to protect ingram.

they couldve traded ingram for a 27 year old paul george signed to a max contract. passed on it to protect him

dude is hot garbage rn

Yep!

...and Lonzo Ball will not be signed by anyone coming out of his rookie contract. HOLY SHIT!

I'm glad I'm not a GM. It's still early, but D'angelo and Ingram have surprised me. I though Ingram was a can't miss, and D'angelo an average to below-average guard.
