I just bought a Shure SM7B

The wife uses one for all of her voiceover work, and we use it on her band vocals too. It's good for a singer/speaker who has a lot of treble in their voice.

It has almost no output, though, so make sure you have a preamp with at least a good 65 dB of gain.

James from Metallica uses one for his vocals.

i run it through a ART Tube MP preamp

45 db knob on that plus a 20 db boost switch

then it goes into a behringer 1832fx where i could add 60 db

making for 125 decibels of MY GODLY VOICE
