Thomas Friedman had a great quote about how many days it would take Trump to save as many jobs as Obama did with the auto bailout by making a carrier deal a day. It was a lot.
On one hand, good for Trump for working on keeping his campaign promises.
On the other how many corporate handouts do we need to save 43% of this one plant and none of the jobs of the parts maker that is still shipping 2000 to mexico.
Kinda encapsulate Trump, he does something easy (handout to Carrier) that he can say he won on without doing the harder thing of putting forth a larger and more sustainable policy that would discourage companies from moving in the first place.
So is Trump going to go plant by plant to save America or not?
His trumpeting this as a win is typical behavior for him no matter what the actual details are, As long as he sells the optics to his satisfaction.
