It's just like any other polishing/grinding.. big grits to small grits - small grit - 2000-4000 wet then use something like cerium oxide for final..

Now - that doesn't mean you:

1. Do it if you don't know what the fuck you're doing.
2. Grab a sheet of any sandpaper around the house and do it.

..anyways - you can sand or grind glass, but you just can't be stupid and do it..
