Make the game, and make it as good as you can.

Leave the Community to the Community.

Don't need newsgroups, or forums. You could potentially still have the browser for the purpose of manipulating a player's identification (getting tags, joining rosters etc). MAYBE. If it works well.

I think I would just as soon not have any of that.
