i thought you guys were joking but it's literally at 100%
Why is it so hard to make a damn Predator film. Put a group of 7-9 cool, badass characters in a jungle and kill them one by one. It doesn't have to evolve or expand the universe.
I read somewhere that any RT rating of 3/5 or over counts as 100%
that's literally the entire idea of how rt works, it's binary
i don't think the formula is as repeatable as you're saying
predator works because it's not what you're expecting to happen to a gang of badass commandos, and because it is such a distinctive cast of essentially interchangeable but infinitely hammy personas. it is jason vs. rambo.
even if you manage to get together another such cast (and predators obviously tried very hard; much too hard in fact), the mystery can never be recaptured, so you just go through the same beats of hey it collects trophies, hey it's invisible, hey it can bleed, always wishing you were watching arnold do the same things
honestly the only reasonable paths to take are different time periods or alien planets, both of which are too outre for a mainstream movie franchise whose fanbase is 20 years past expiration (not to mention much more expensive and trickier to navigate tonally). they're the kind of ideas that work in comic books and spinoff novels because by the time you're reading those you've already bought in completely.
If they weren't making such a big deal about it there wouldn't be a bunch of trolls looking to fuck with it.
So it works on a thumbs up / thumbs down approach? 100% of critics gave it thumbs up?
Have you guys considered the possibility it's getting good reviews because it's actually good?
The current plan on 4Chan right now is to rate it at 100% and make it the highest rated movie ever. That way normies will know it's too much bullshit and everyone gets a red pill.
Never knew, never bothered to research it
