ok..

dx = done
terrasact(sp?) = done
broad/blastside = done (even though we done play, it's still lush terrain)

This sorta puts The DAVE.G qix to shame, they build this new engine do all this ****, when they could have improved the darkstar and made it openGL friendly.
(certain people from the SS community had the ability and drive to do this, but due to the threatening of law suits was never completed and haulted by lawyers)
They could have throw some more pretty graphics in there and bango you have the potential for who knows, flight sims, fps's hunting games, what ever.

Along comes sarca and a handful of other doods, completely port some stuff over from Tribes2 into SS:tribes and it ends up looking better and looking like it belongs.
Now ya got the textures and everything.

SHHHH what were they thinking! its one of those zen pad moments when i see something like this.

i believe so sarca.... cause its in both starsiege tribes and tribes.... i believe thats its official engine name.... and yes starsiege is very much same in everything... dts, gui's you name it its all there.

"Fear" was the name of the original Tribes engine, which was renamed to "Darkstar" when they began to develop Tribes Xtreme, and later became Tribes 2 which was showcased at E3 in June 2000. After E3 they decided to scrap the engine and re-write it from scratch, to be more OpenGL compatible (stupid azz decision imho). Which became vl2, and later Torque engine.
Darkstar engine owned, see pics:

Why not take the shortcut. Take T2 and make a mod. Strip it of everything not in Tribes, dumb down the shrike to the retarded scout controls and handling, and call it "T1 Mod" or something. I don't see the logic behind converting all the models, sounds, terrains, skys, and effects to T1 when they look better on the Torgue engine in T2. It's like putting StarCraft models into WarCraft.
