[Mega] MAGA Super Trump Mega Thread

The amusing thing about faithless electors is that it's perfectly legal for them to vote for any candidate regardless of the results in their state and the resulting winner of that election would legally be the president of the united States. And Congress has no authority to tell them to take a do over.

It seems you have forgotten what an impeachment is.

Checks and balances baby. Welcome to the US of friggin A

These morons don't even realize the military is almost completely pro-Trump. The few who might break ranks and attempt a coup (OMG just the idea alone is hilarious) would be shut the fuck down by true Patriots before they even left the house. A military coup is the absolute last thing that might happen this election. If anything, the various National Guard units will be called to finally put an end to the "protesting" and it'll be some of these same libscum cucks calling for a coup who wind up with a boot on their necks. LMAO

Unlikely because the electors are on slates for the party. Not voting would doom the electors from ever holding Republican party positions of power again.

Plus it's unlikely she gets 270 which would throw the vote for Pres to Congress which is Republican controlled.

You posited that the electoral college could do what they want and that congress could do nothing in response. They could impeach, yes.

Yeah, but that has nothing to with the electoral college. The ec can elect whoever they want. Only way Congress would get involved is of no one won, in which case Congress gets to decide.

And i don't think abstaining voters change the math. Could be wrong tho.

If the electors are establishment/insiders they could flip their votes to Clinton and the establishment Republicans wouldn't care. The establishment was ready to elect Hillary just to avoid trump.

Depends on whether or not they think they can wrestle control of the party seat from trump.

Thats not true. If a faithless elector makes it a tie, congress decides the winner.

If a faithless elector or electors swings the outcome, congress decides. If house and senate disagree (unlikely with GOP control of both) it goes back to the SoS of the affected state(s).
