but as a life long Cali native I must say (things you might not know):
the foreign language thing wouldn't mean much (even arabic)
nobody in California speaks English dude......only a minority now
they don't even want to call it ESL in our schools anymore. It is EL classes now.....there is no longer a second language involved for many.

In the Army Now, with Paulie Shore, along with a couple different Rambo movies used Thousand Oaks hills area to depict the Middle East for large parts of their movie.
Kill Bill church scene massacre was filmed right next to Edwards AFB. Anything inland of LA, where it is a concrete jungle, is absolute desert.
