No. He just scooted over a foot or two. After it fell onto the vehicle, he and his son were able to get out

There is a pic from the inside of the truck afterward, but I can't find it on my laptop. I wonder if I have it on a hard drive at work.

Dumb (and wrong) reporter. He didn't recognize that the roof was falling, then take off his seatbelt (and his kid's), then scoot over 4-5 foot in the cab of a truck, then open the passenger door (even if his son did it), then push him and his son both out of the truck in less than ~2 seconds. You can see him stillin the vehicle when the overhang crushed the edge of the truck.

He might have exited the vehicle during the event, but it wasn't before the roof crashed down. I'd imagine he was exiting it right about the time the roof completely crushed the side of the truck and lost its momentum.
