[t1] chain tracers?

not reading all the pages of info so if this is OFN sorry. but anyways i remember hearing that the chain tracers were done server side (ie why they work wiht drinkMOD) and changing them client side wouldnt work. not sure if this is true but i remember hearing that a while ago.

amusing to see all the cheaters trying to justify to themselves its perfectly fine to cheat.

you all make it sound like "aim" is the skill part and anything else in the game that automates itself for you is fine. no offence but there is other skills in the game besides aiming strait.

thank god this is the yank community and our community doesnt seem to feel this way.

omg "they aint a cheat"

of course they are. you can see it a LOT better.

Mention having those red colors on MidnightMayhem  (black background).

It surely does help your chain>

its ok the majority of american mod newbies think there's no big deal with using happyflag because they've never actually played without it ("wtf happyflag didnt originally come w/ tribes?!?")

dont try to understand
just nod your head and they'll think nothing of it

lol i dont c how its a cheat if you can only c it better... it is not like its making it hit every time ...who give a shit if u can c it better, that doesnt really matter

 what kinda of a question is that, of course i do... i kno it has an aim deflection of 0.005 and that the projectile is bullet.dts and bulletExp0 is the explosion i also kno it has a tracer precentage of 1.0 and a tracer length of 30 plus it has an impact damage class a muzzle veloicity of 425.0 and a mass of 00.5

never use sensors, rarely even go into commander mode

wow. i mean like, depending what position you play...but as a capper, I use the command screen every 5-10 seconds or so, mid routes and such... why? because thats the only non-cheating way to know where the flag is.

our flag has been taken? well theres ONE place hes going with that.... get there first OMFG!!!!@#%!$%

not during standoffs... besides, on foggy maps capping is all about trickery.. or use to be. Obfuscation used to be a capper's dream, you could just randomly swerve right and totally lose all chasers b/c of the fog.

and u shouldnt have to hide with the flag in the first place, thats the point, u should have teammates help u with that, if not, do something else

the POINT is to keep the flag safe on standoffs. You cant return a stupid flag if you dont know WHERE it is.. it takes time to search a whole map for a hiding flagger, and time is valuable.

lol gambit, I didnt mean the details of how it worked :)

I meant how it is a very destructive and lethal weapon but the fact the bullets are intentionally hard to see makes it harder to use and ultimately is fairer. Making the bullets more visible would give an unfair advantage, thus making it a cheat.

So you see the cappers coming how... ? Or let me guess, you have only played in pubs/vs non skilled cappers who use the same overused routes all the time.
Try LDing vs clamsoda.. (or any good capper for that matter)

This is true, however its much harder to return your flag when you fly close enough to the enemy base to reaquire the capper, enjoy the enemy escort/LD..
Also, how do you know the capper hasent swiched direction?

Standoffs happen, thats part of tribes compitition. The differece is, having to look for the enemy capper, all the while being harassed by LD, OR go straight for the capper since you have that nice simley face/Box around the flag.

Btw, trick :)

1. i see them because i look around constantly until i see a black pixel or a BIG RED ARROW

2. they only go to 1 spot, their flag, get there first(and if nobody else has called it) GRAB THE FLAG AND RUN, it might only buy u a few seconds but when hes about to cap a few seconds makes a lot of a difference :p it dosent matter if they switch directions, meet him at his base and kill him

3. or u know, follow the chaingun bullets and zoom in on who ur teammates are shooting, or then again u could look for that bright glow around the capper, either one

and for those that use happyflag, yea sure they know where the flag is, but if u go offence and theres at least 1 other person, they will usually have found the capper already, if not zoom in on ppl and look to see who has the flag
